Something that most people don't know or ignore is that dreams do have significance and impact the real world more than the average person would believe. Although most dreams are just the projection of hidden desires that are linked to the wishes of the person that dreams, some of them may hold key information about the state of your health, be it mental or physical.
A dream is a symbolic occurrence and it must not be taken literally, the images, sounds and sensations in a dream are not quite what they seem and when one tries to interpret a dream it is very important that he or she remembers not to take it literally, at least in most cases. A dream interpretation does not follow a set pattern and the meaning of a dream is unique for each person!
Dream interpretations started almost as soon as the first people realized that something was happening to them at night and did not know what, so they started probing into the dream domain.
Dream interpretation started a very long time ago dating as far as 3000-4000 B.C. , something that is proved by the archeological find of clay tablets with dreams recorded onto them.
It is thought that primitive man was unable to distinguish between the dream world and the real world and then as man evolved man started to see the dream world at a higher spiritual level than the real world.
If you want to analyze your own dreams it is important to know that you need to pay attention to what is happening in the dream world , the feelings, sounds, visuals and also make a comparison to what's happening in your life at that moment, If you want to interpret your dreams here are some pointers:
- As you start to wake up replay the dream in your head and do it before you start to move, before you even open your eyes. Dream memory is lost rapidly so move quickly and replay your dream in your head many times as you can discover many more details. Keep repeating the dream even after 15 minutes have passed, it is a known fact that 50% of a dream is forgotten after 5 minutes and 90% is gone after 10 minutes.
- Write a description of the dream as fast as you can remembering not to forget even the smallest details and focus on objects that were crucial in the dream
- Find a quiet place in your home and begin interpreting what you've dreamt, use intuition and you inner self as these will help you a lot in interpreting
- Pay attention o the emotions you experience as you remember the dream and play it in your head, think about every little detail in the dream and search for symbols and then think about what that symbol means for your life.
- Try to start an inner dialogue with the people that you encountered in your dream, and ask yourself why you are dreaming about a certain object or person
- If you find yourself unable to progress in your interpretation leave it and come back another time
